Breakway Farm is a full-service Thoroughbred farm in Dillsboro, Indiana, run by mother-daughter team Janice Jordan and Tara Mathias.

Janice began working with horses at just twelve years old, and by sixteen she was breaking and training show horses. She eventually discovered her passion for Thoroughbred racing and founded Breakway Farm, which has grown from a small operation of 12 horses into one of the most respected Thoroughbred farms in the state.

Tara plays a central role in managing the farm’s operations, ensuring that every horse receives the highest quality care at every stage of development.

Conveniently located near Horseshoe Indianapolis, Turfway Park, Belterra Park, and Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky, Breakway Farm is ideally situated for racehorse breeders and owners. The farm offers a full suite of services, including breeding, foaling, layups, boarding, and sales preparation. Their growing stallion roster has consistently ranked in Indiana’s Top 10 for progeny earnings, and many stakes winners have been bred and foaled at Breakway Farm, reflecting their dedication and expertise.
